Don't blame Missy B!

Missy B. of Q did not talk with The Underworld on the air today. This was not her fault, though - nor mine now that I think about it!! No, this time, someone wisely left the fax machine set to automatically answer the phone. So, Missy got an earful of fax chatter a bunch of times before she gave up and had to STFU and GBTW.

Check out the music. Love you. Mean it.

Offbeat music and conversation with The Isolated Sequence - on The Underworld

Otto from The Isolated Sequence joined Kaley and Mike in the infamous Underworld lair. We were treated to Otto's musings on such topics as former New York governor Elliot Spitzer, leagalized prostitution, legalized Canadian prostitution, and intoxicants of various and dubious legality. As a special, unexpected treat, Otto favored us with a karaoke version of the Humpty Dance - live and unrehearsed.

A quick update on our friend Dave Crisci. For those unfamiliar with his name and situation, Dave is the bassist of local '80s tribute band Decadence. He is essentially paralized from the waiste down due to back problems. He'll walk again, but it's uncertain when that will happen. The friends of Dave Crisci threw a benefit last Saturday to try to help the guy out a bit. In all, it appears that we raised about $5000! Thanks to all who helped and contributed to the cause.

Here's the podcast. Shove it up your ass. (I don't know why I typed that. . .)

Totaro is awesome! My podcasting methods are not.

Damn. This was one of the best shows in Underworld history. Unfortunately, many people couldn't hear it because we were having trouble with our broadcast tower all afternoon. No problem, right? We always have the podcast - right? Right. We always have the podcast unless something messes it up. So. . . . of course it got messed up.

John Totaro was our guest in the studio. What an amazing talent! We had a great time talking with him and (in the second hour of the show) listening to him play live on the air.

Here's what really sucks, though. The podcast recording stopped before any of John's live performance. DAMN IT!

So, here's what I have - with my apologies to the fans and friends of John Totaro and The Underworld.

Enjoy!

Do you have any idea how much ass is kicked by Maniacal?

Seriously folks, Maniacal is one of my favorite Seacoast bands. 75% of the band was in the studio with Kaley and me (I'm looking at YOU, Rusty!) while we played four new songs from their forthcoming EP/DVD combo.

We played another song from Underworld newcomers The Isolated Sequence as well as new stuff from Dustin Pearce and more!

We also had a suprise visit from Al of Two Sided Season.

Here's your podcast, beeeooootttcchhh.

Sake of Reason on The Underworld

Sake of Reason joined Mike and Guy in the studio for two hours of absurdity and rock.

New music included great tunes by The Isolated Sequence and Wreckoning.

Tune in next week for the insanity of Maniacal.

Here's the podcast. You know what to do.

Live in The Underworld with Bad Bones Records

We've got some BIG things going on in The Underworld!
Corey from Two Sided Season and Bad Bones Records joined Mike and Kaley on the show to make our BIG announcement. . .
The Underworld has teamed up with Bad Bones Records!! Together, we'll be creating a series of compilation disks titled, "Live in The Underworld." Listen to the podcast for more details.

Here's your friggin' podcast:

Happy New Year from The Underworld!

The Underworld rocked New Year's Day in exactly the same way we rock every Tuesday.: Loud, aggressive, tasty local tunes and inane commentary.

I gave my review of the "Hell for the Holidays" show that I attended at the Dover Brickhouse on Dec. 29. The bands all kicked ass. Check out the podcast and you'll hear all about it.

Here's the podcast.

Death Defect, Transdusk, and Living Syndication

Today's show was just a buttload of fun. Kaley and I had a few good rants and played some killer tunes.

New music on this week's show comes from Death Defect, Transdusk, and Living Syndication. All three bands kick ass in their own way, so check out the podcast, AND their myspace pages.

Here's the direct link. You know what to do.

Twisted freaks.

This week's newcomers to the show are Terror in the Midnight Sun. I know that you twisted freaks are as sick as I am, so you'll definitely love songs like: Only Porn Can Save Us Now, Please Don't Kill My Mother, and Automaton.

We started the show with last week's newbies: tunnlvision, and played a LOT of music that you probably haven't heard. Check it out, bro (sis). This music kicks ass.

New music that rocks

We had some fun on the show and played some new tunes while we were at it.

W played a song by one band that's new to the show - A Simple Complex. Their vocal harmonies are awesome, and the music is tremendous. I love when local bands open for national acts, so I'm happy to mention that A Simple Complex will be opening for Prong on October 27 in Bedford, NH.

We also played some never-before-heard songs from some bands that are familiar to our listeners. Check out the podcast!

One final note: On this podcast, I mention a way to get very cheap tickets to see Queensryche, Alice Cooper, and Heaven & Hell this weekend. Sadly, the tickets are all gone. =(

Juice!!

Juice is a master musician. He was kind enough to play three songs live on the air - just Juice and his acoustic guitar. His lyrics, music, and voice are simply amazing.

Juice came to the underwhelming WSCA studio to talk to us about a song pull that he is hosting. Interested musicians can get all the info by listening to the show, checking the banner on his webpage or shooting Juice an email.
